Photographs of the Parade of the Heroes in London: Monday 18 October 2004

The photos below were taken on the day of the parade in London to celebrate the success of the athletes who won medals at the 2004 Olympic Games and Paralympic Games in Athens, Greece.

The Olympic team (known as Team GB) won a total of 30 medals, including nine golds. This was Britain's best performance in the Olympics since 1924 (excluding the years when there were major boycotts).

The Paralympic team won 94 medals, including 35 golds. The team ended second to China in the medal table.
