Spectators lined the route of the procession, which started opposite the Ritz
Hotel on Piccadilly and ended in Trafalgar Square.

by the crowd.
Kelly Holmes won particularly loud applause - she won two gold medals in athletics
17-year-old Amir Khan was also a hero, having won a silver medal in the boxing
competition
