Tours in the UK with International Friends

International Friends is a company which organises tours in the UK and Europe. Trips leave from and return to London (pick-ups for some tours may also be available from Cambridge, Kent or Oxford).

Small Group Day Trips (England)

The following small group day-trips are available. Each of these trips starts from London. Travel is by minicoach and has a maximum of 16 passengers.
These are fully-guided lecture-standard tours, with an Oxford/Cambridge-educated guide.

2-day Weekend Tours by Minicoach (England & Wales)

The following is a list of 2-day weekend tours by minicoach which are operated by International Friends.
Trips leave London on Saturday morning and return on Sunday evening.

These are small group tours - the minicoach carries a maximum of 16 passengers.
All of these tours include the services of a driver-guide.
Prices include accommodation and breakfast.
You should bring enough extra money for your other meals (lunch and supper), for entrance into attractions and to buy souvenirs: you are recommended to bring at least £30 per day.

3-day Weekend Tours by Train (Scotland)

International Friends also operates a 3-day trip to Edinburgh.
This trip leaves London early on Friday morning and returns late on Sunday evening (on bank holiday weekends the trip starts on Saturday morning and ends on Monday evening).
You may need to order a taxi to get to the meeting point on time on Friday morning. To check first and last Tube times or night bus services, see: http://www.tfl.gov.uk
You meet your guide in front of WH Smith's bookshop inside King's Cross train station in central London (follow signs for King's Cross platforms 1-8, and do not go to St Pancras International train station by mistake).
You should bring enough extra money for your other meals (lunch and supper), for entrance into attractions and to buy souvenirs: you are recommended to bring at least £30 per day.
There is an optional trip to Loch Ness and the Highlands on the second day, and an optional trip to the Borders area on the third day (at extra cost).
Note that a special longer tour to Edinburgh is organised over the New Year period, to enjoy the Hogmanay celebrations.

All tours start and end in London, but in some cases you can also join in Cambridge or Kent (check departure points and times when you book).

Activity Weekend

On some weekends there are activity weekends in Wales.
Tours start in London from the car park at International Students House (Tube: Great Portland Street) (map)

Horse Riding in Wild Wales is a 2-day trip (Saturday and Sunday) to Wales, including sightseeing in Chepstow and the Wye Valley and horse riding in the Brecon Beacons.
The tour includes the services of a driver-guide.
The price includes accommodation in single-sex multi-bedded rooms in a hostel (with breakfast).
You should bring enough extra money for your other meals (lunch and supper), for entrance into attractions and to buy souvenirs: you are recommended to bring at least £30 per day.

Outdoor Adventure Weekend in Wales is a 3-day trip (Friday to Sunday) to Pembrokeshire in Wales, including sightseeing in Cardiff and outdoor activities along the coast of Pembrokeshire (a National Park).
Activities include coasteering, hiking and kayaking/surfing.
You need to be able to swim and to bring an extra pair of shoes/boots and a bathing suit (to wear under a wetsuit).
