GLEN COE

The name of Glen Coe is well-known because of a terrible massacre which happened here in 1692. Soldiers from one Highland clan (the Campbells) killed men, women and children of another clan (the MacDonalds).

WALLACE MONUMENT

The Wallace Monument was built in Victorian times. Wallace was a Scottish warrior who defeated the English at Stirling Bridge in 1297, but was later captured and executed by the English.
